My Mother in Law was special and I was her favorite.

Music for Martha

She is not here
But the radio is on.
Her chair is empty
Martha is gone.

When she was with us
THE TV blared
The radio sang
Music is to be shared.

Now I go in the house
where Martha once lived
with Red by her side
and miss the love they would give.

I call out their names
as if they could hear,
turn on the radio
and wipe away a tear.

I turn it up LOUD
and laugh as I remember
All of our summers
and our last December.
