I am a lot of things...

Just when you think you are,
you're not.
Someone says you're special.
You prove that you are not so
different, twin.

A friend asks a favor
which isn’t hard. Readily, you agree.
Then another proposal
comes along. An exchange
Of time, a simple transaction;
an excuse given for a broken promise.
Sneaky twin.

After your fun, you wrestle the guilt.
The simple request haunts you
into the night. How will you face
them tomorrow? You spin
a million justifications, reasons
for the trade. Why you betrayed,
spendthrift twin

The public persona, so
Commiserate, courageous.
Full of consistent compassion
always so caring.
Nice Twin.

In reality, part bitch. Hard to live
with, always wanting and
needing to scratch that itch.
Needy twin.

The mood is quicker than any eye.
I am all and none of these.
Just twin.

You forgave,
You got the perception I wanted.
It’s just that sometimes,
I wish you would let me know, you’ve
seen through that…
To something deeper.
Whole.

this is great because I believe we all do this;
Just what I believe; only you shared yours and I really like it a lot!
more I like that you are honest enough to write about this even on a light scale. I echo The StromSpinner;
excellent!
Happy Healthy Holy blessings and happy new yr

Aren't we all many things. Some of us are things we don't even know we are.

Great writing, still seems much in the confessional mode as in 5 degrees, but as usual in this kind of writing of yours, its stark and raw emotive force cuts into the reader. Saludos

A thought-inciting write that is deserving of much more than a single reading; it offers much substance for reflection. Thank you, Janet. Love and best wishes to you,

"The mood is quicker than any eye"...I love that line.
What a perceptive poem. Just what I needed at the end of this weekend with so much still to do to say and...to eat this evening.

Have a great week
