I heard the news today...
I'm still probing for that nourishing womb. God, put me back in. The news came and another boy was slain. Has the world gone insane? A mother choked her child until she was blue. The neighbors said how how normal the family appeared on cue. The reports are daunting. Too many gone to war, I see children in uniform, this leaves a tragic scar. It makes me wonder, just how much are we capable of. Are we all sick, and able to commit heinous crimes? A shuttle exploded over my home town, my best friend heard the boom. Thought that it was her water heater. If it were that simple, grieving. My own problems are small by comparison., Yet I grieve anyway. For those insignificant things lost forever. We do get news overload. Leaving us feeling low. When the majority of the reality is upbeat and neighbourly. Though having said that. I read that every three minutes the average American thinks of something bad. (Not Good) Spec' in a country with so much natural beauty.

I am happier today than I was twenty years ago. War. Crime. Hate. Love. Deceit. All five of those acts are related. They all exist and will forever exist. There is nothing wrong with trying to better ourselves, but sometimes bettering ourselves puts us in a worse fix. Take America for example . . .

Why I turn the News, off. :( Too sad. My feeling: those that forget history are condemned to repeat it. Ain't it the truth -- some things NEVER change. How horrible for that little child. What kind of mother --?

Yes I do too, Janet. One only has to watch Nancy Grace on Tv to know how sick we all have become. I wish I could help more, but I have become an old man. Any way I like this writing because it is the work of GOD.

Yes, that is the question. How much are we capable of? I think that pretty much depends on the context we find ourselfes in, if that is what is ecxpected of people and that is normal and acceptable behaviour in the society that they live in. If the torch of hatred is pointed at a group of people in the name of an authority or in the name of god,or even in the name of a charismatic gang- or sect leader, then normal, good people are capable of unspeakable crimes. That is what happened in germany during the second world war.
