Down For The Count

Ten, Nine, Eight
I’m down for the count
I look for the eagle
His wings to surmount
I see him nowhere
Not anywhere near me
Nor even close to life’s ring
Of failed victories.
Seven
Is that referee still counting?
Who appointed him anyway?
To be the one to call my destiny.
Can’t he see that I’m no longer fighting?
Six, Five, Four
The seconds seem an eternity long
When will it all be over and done?
What shame I feel
Lying flat on my back
Can’t they see I’ve tossed in the towel
On life’s wrestling match?
Three, Two, One
I breathe relief as I hear the last count
I close my eyes, I open my mouth
A sigh escapes through my parted lips
As in the distance, I hear him announce
“Ladies and Gentlemen,
The winner is…..”

Bless you, Leah...you have, likewise, touched my heart. I pray the Father to send you the Comforter.....He will lead you back out, into the Light...again. Remember the words of Jesus, "Only believe."
I believe in Him - and you - and the multitude of gifts/talents you've been given! You go, my precious Sister! Love, Rhonda

You my sweet dear will always be a winner in my eyes. For there is no weapon that can be formed against thee, and neither shall it prosper. For you are and have always been the winner...

U definitely need a new referee, as he is supposed to count forwards not backwards...so just while you are down there lay back and allow that special person to you mount, then again start the count...;) Ed
