About how a mother can make you feel and just how special she is. This poem has been selected in the final catagory of the International Open Poetry Contest. Please wish me luck!!!

I hold myself back,
When I want to hug you
At moments so very odd,

Sneak up behind you,
Kiss you on the cheek
And then run off again,

I wonder at times,
What all I would just do
To see you smiling always,

And how your gentle ways,
And that twinkle in your eye
Just makes my day,

And how much I have depended,
On your loving open arms
To turn my sobs to giggles,

But you can never imagine,
How much I miss you
Each time you are away,

And that your every worried frown,
Makes me hold my breath
And my whole world sways,

And your every little worry,
Lets that choking silence
Surge into my life,

And I wonder if you know?
How deeply it hurts
Each time you are in dismay,

Your glance builds up my determination
But then your hurt is my endurance,
Beyond which I'll break,

I really wish that I could...
Help you in every way
At every corner of your life,

Do you realise how much
They make me worry?
Your lines of sacrifice,

Do you know that,
I can't do without you
Now or ever mom?

And do you know that
Your love is my weakness,
That keep me strong?

But I'm really sorry ma,
'Cause I just can't express
What I really want to say,

'Cause at every right time,
All the words go wrong
And till the right words that time has gone!

Each line accurately triggers off its expected emotional response. The poem sails across the imagination laden with literary associations ransacked from the riches of the Human Nature... :)

A very beautiful attempt. Its nice to know that you feel what you have written otherwise you would not have been able to. Please do ask your mother to read this before it becomes late. I am sure that her appriciation would be the biggest prize for you. Best of Luck!

A very loving sentiment to a Mom that I bet knows how you feel. Maybe she's too shy to say so but she feels it in her heart. I felt the same way about my Mom and I know that my daughter (20 yrs) feels that way about me. Very good poem. Janet
