for me, no amount
of censorship can erase
the aura of the shadows of
the night, you see, I've seen it
with you, it is embedded deep
inside of me,

I stare at your
protuberance, a
lesbian scholar who
translates the veins cast
from a male porn star as a
penetrating symbol, joined, we
have broken the celibate pyramid
code, celebrating a rise in power that
never goes flaccid,

I stare with
wildly aroused
vision at the animated
serpentine shadows of the
night, making the erotic poster
on the wall with you as we illustrate
and engage in artistic intercourse, your
language you carve inside me predates a
Mayan glyph, the place of the temple jaguar
goddess dripping on my interior walls done in
jade and travertine,

excavating me in ritual,
at some lesbian Acropolis,
you've gone deeper, so much
deeper, beyond the limited world
of pomp and politics, your penetrating
inscription in the Long Count system,
a calendrical notation you give as to the
number of days until Vernal Equinox, the
location date of the find,

hard jaguar panting,
I stare at your protuberance
suspended in time on the wall, the
shadows of the night, where you have
deciphered more than half of the glyph this
year of painstaking, expanding the metaphorical
scope of inquiry of this century's music of Pat Benatar,

translating the shadows of the night...

More compelling and captivating than all the Indianna Jones's put together, Sage, this paints for us the rise and fall of nations, the deep-etched hieroglyphs of crytpic sensual and sexual Sapphic runes, Cleopatra's treasure slithering ceaselessly through the slimes of the Nile or Sheba's endless humping across deserts of her own choosing. Women are suns who delineate their own paths and select their own satellites. Shadows and darkness are at their bidding. Startlingly muscular write. Love the celebratory feel to this one. For some strange reason, makes me think of the inverse of female circumcision... No idea why. TY K xx

Bugger! the plug in never worked, never mind, it didn't detract from my enjoyment of this sumptious, symbolically colourful and sensual piece. Your imagery translates the shadows perfectly.

Blessed Be
Paul;-)

An achingly sumptuous exultation of language and sensuality welded to serve layered passions on multiple levels of mind, body, and spirit. Totally mesmerizing and totally hot.

Hey Sage,

No need for translation of such elation!

I often wonder if the shadows on the wall are as turned on by watching us as we are in watching them.

Your poem is a great response to Pat Benatar's "Hit me with your best shot".

Love & Light always and in all ways,
Joseph*

You've combined two of my favorite subjects, archaeology and the erotic in such a spellbinding blend.

embellished with bold and brilliant images, salaciously seducing, translating the symbolic essence of shadows of the night as they continue on their journey across the heavens while penetrating and expanding the flesh and scope of their design ...

celebrating a rise in power that
never goes flaccid...! If only...LOL!
Sage~ this is a very unique way in "Translating The Shadows Of The Night", of bringing to life what censorship tries to take away in their interpretations of which they can't feel, nor touch...therefore they BS...Smiles!
Love this~ and just for the record Pat Benatar rocks!
Love and Peace~

Very good. I like the added element of 'structure'.

"for me, no amount
of censorship can erase
the aura of the shadows of
the night..." - nor will censorship ever have such power, my talented friend... that's what censors don't seem to understand, in their flat, colourless, boring, and yes, extremely flaccid view... of themselves and thus, of that universe of beauty "carved by language" and "embeded deeply inside". They can decipher nothing, in their total illiteracy of the senses and that which goes beyond...
I'm in awe of this masterpiece, and of the "animated serpentine shadows".
Love,
Alexandra*

Wow Sage, this transcends gender, race, age and all other barriers as the intensity of the moment is so sensually captured from a glimpse of the present to the trespasses of time. This is one heck of a write and so well presented.
