down in the boondocks,
down in the boondocks,

that's the side of the
wagon train seat she's
lying bare upon,
grazing emerald
grasses in an open
meadow with a wet
ribbon of water
winding through it,

pagan lesbian going
down in the boondocks,
down in the boondocks,
she has no intention of
fitting into your society,

down in the boondocks,
down in the boondocks,

Jack London, wolf
restores the call of
the wild, cow elk
sprints across the road,
then another, we raise
our muzzles, steamy
vapors escape our
nostrils,

gunshot breaks upon
her ears, cow elk
takes the bullet for
pagan lesbian, blood
stains breastwork in
many places,

down in the boondocks,
down in the boondocks,

unnamed Indian woman
on a black horse, Sequoyah's
dictionary on her lance,
language spoken raw, she
has no intention of fitting
into yours, she's from the
Purple Quillers Society,

down in the boondocks,
down in the boondocks,

six-shooters and spurs,
in the corral lay nine dead
horses and mules, the
wagons move forward,

what do you do to keep
alive?

down in the boondocks,
down in the boondocks...

Boondocks and boardwalks; bedknobs and broomsticks... Your Purple Paragons certainly know how to live on the Lou Read Wild Side. Walk on into a spankin 2007, with your poetic quills of pistols and blades strapped tight to your leather thighs, our darlin Lavender Lady Sage. LOL K xx

Oh, for just the flair that's in your pinky, Firebrand.

I enjoyed this piece and as a person
who lives "down in the boondocks" I
relate. ;)

Strong visuals painted on a raw hide canvas of past and present.
