inserting fire, a
touching sight, do
you think I might...
I hardly know which
is me, a room of leather,
lace, books, tarot, apples,
Old Spice, fire and ice, do
I gain a liphold on you, does
the soft line between real and
fantasy evoke the kiss,

I knew the answer
centuries before, your
reply, cry in the night, if
you go long enough without
fire and ice, cryptic signs etch
themselves in fenceposts, do you
know I read them like tarot, the
fenceposts led me to a room of leather,
lace, books, tarot, apples, Old Spice, 
fire and ice, do I gain a liphold on you,
does the fenceline between real and
fantasy evoke the kiss,

the cast-iron plow
of 1837 leaves me face-deep
in your silken tassels, wild grains,
and fluff, finally able to bust the farm
sod, red sparks come darting from you,
melting the ice on my tongue, you come
fire and ice...
