Sage Sweetwater, unrivaled, bringing you the Upper Tier in lesbian erotica...Sage Sweetwater, the exceptional ARTIST of literary lesbian poetic prose...

boll weevil depression,
feedsack confession, "are
you sure it's really a feedsack?"
I, the firebrand thought to ask, running
my fingers as light as a feather in the
line from the chainstitching that once
held the sack together, her underwear,
the logo on the flour sack, "self-rising"....
intact, no tear,

poverty of the depression,
evolution of the feedsack, she
took my hand in the General Mercantile
and Tack, led me to the confession stack,
sacks of  flour, sugar, beans, rice, lifted her
dress cornmeal higher, I copped a feel, moist
under, tight-weave, old-day gossip rag to riches
tabloid Wet Mountain Tribune press, she moved
40 sacks, 7 feet high, to find the pattern of her desire,

she couldn't deny,
my finger rubbing her
labia, it was so swollen
and hard where she soaked
the ingenious panty in kerosene,
rubbed it with unsalted lard, washed
it with lye to rid her desire, tried to fade
preference, the flour brand label, "firebrand,
I can't remove it - 'self-rising' - kiss it - I am able,"

feedsack peddlers,
our business selling -
promoting frontier women
of lavender, lesbians f***ing
on feedsack quilts, soft covers
for hard times - bibles and feedsack
labels busting open lust on pillowcase
borders, praying in the back of wagons...

I...

it's all living and loving and dying and suffering and surviving and going West young whatever man, woman or child. great images evoked, as usual with flair.

"Faith to move mountains" comes to mind here, Sage. I grew up in the ruff and tumble of feed sacks and hay bales and still haven't gotten over how much they ITCH!! I'm in awe of the descriptors here... and the process she has adopted makes me wonder whether she has any uncalloused skin or membrane left on her primed body. The sticks in my mind are rubbing together enough to create a spark, and the result could be dangerous, given the high-octane environment here! But, truth to tell, I'm a bit of namby feather-bed girl meself... You just keep on pushing that envelope... we'll keep on unwrapping your brown paper parcels, wondering what next might pop out! Boggling, Darlin, as always. Love, Kate xx

it certainly would be difficult observing her move 40 sacks, 7 feet high without being aroused by what's under that cornmeal dress ... must have been a sight watching the wagon bouncing around ... then again not to many around on the plains except the pioneers of sexual spirituality ...

what always intrigues me about your work sage is that despite all the techniques you use to create a popular writing over a wide cross section, you still manage to remain original & unique in your own genre,
i'm a constant admirer Saludos

Sage -this is brilliant...there's lots of talk about economic recession in your country and mine these days, and i try to be interested in that stuff - i prefer reading your poem! i felt this was a reminder of the '30's - anyway, the poem says much, and i have always wondered what made sackcloth soft enough for clothing etc, not just it's aging, interesting - i had a poncho once! oh,sorry, i have a wandering brain today -i have just transfered my mushrooms from the silly plastic bag they put them in, to a nice paper one - and your poem reminds me of the corn leaves i used to slice and roll my tobacco up in - natural fibres make me feel connected to this life...earthy, your poem is brilliant, very clever ideas, sexy too - is this my worst comment yet?! lol! love, Nicky xx

Wow-The earthyness of this write-and somehow the longing and the deeply felt passion--this write touched me - maybe it is just me but the realness of this is very emotionally charged--

Excellant write and though few younger people will truly grasp the signifigance or the importance of the sacks mentioned I can. I can remember my mother bleaching out flour sacks to be used to make everything from pillow cases to shirts so the idea of the lettering on these bags in conjunction with sexuality is marvelous Sage...I love it.

Creativity and reality collide beautifully, sensuously, dangerously.

You have a voice of your own that talks to those who are bold enough to listen.
