The Lavender Outlaw is in the House! Sage Sweetwater is one Bad-Ass!

where is it written
that I must remove
dead tumbleweeds
from the fence?

sheriff's dead
set on issuing me
a summons, same
damn copper that sat
across from my house
in '76 watching the Lone
Pine Restaurant & Lounge
neon sign flash, you see, the
owner had another title, she was
a madam staying in good with the
hard law, he sat in the filling station
parking lot across from my house on
Highway 96 getting a rise, three times a
flash of neon, madam had a free girl, (true story)

sheriff's about ninety
now, so he'll drop dead
before he gets me to court,
says he'll drop the charge if
I'll flash him,

like hell, now
I'm in trouble, he's
issuing me a summons
for being a lesbian, my tits
are my weapons, for the girls,
and the tumbleweeds are all lined
up real pretty on the fence, I'll be a lesbian
long after he's gone, my tongue's harder than
his fossil dick, tin star can't outrun a tumbleweed
and I can't drive 55!

Love the way this unfolds and the ironic sense of humour that flits in an out between the lines...
