Jesus cast the Ladle

Made thirsty travelers
Recite the straw that broke the camel's back
"Awash thy throat from thy dusty road of ignorance
Sip upon thy parched lips thy well of knowledge
Know thy breaking point before knocking on heaven's door"

Oxen bone
Carved with a dip
Rubbed with a stone

Jesus cast
The ladle wise
At sea in communion with the ship's mast

Pagans on the shore
Counting their grains of salt
Worn in bags under the skirt of the whore

Bartering water for salt
Jesus reached under the skirt
Felt the message warm to put in Noah's vault

Jesus cast the ladle
Mary filled the gourds with salt
Soaked the gopherwood boards in water for the cradle

Reviews of "Jesus Cast the Ladle"

the Gods & Lords through history diaries
all speak of sexual encounters with us earth women
we are desirable...
and even angels are documented from our ancestors as being sexual.
Whose to say this in its vision is not true too?
...and even so upon the chisled beliefs of Holyness
this piece will surely make waves to some impression
but it is in truths that sometime hurt or stir up fear(s) that we must offer questions...
hummm? What was her name? Mary Magdalan?
Are we even sure she is a she? Seems somewhere I read/watched documentary channel that she was a man.
...or was it that she was dressed as a male in many paintings? They thought them to be secret lovers? Or suspected it somehow...eitherway
I think it is good evidence to truths to allow ones thoughts
to inquire everything...

now the poem construction is totally amazing
you wickedly naughty pagan woman!!
I wear skirts...Vickie

...did you say skirt check?

Your mixtures of Christianity, paganism and the alternate cultures of time and place always intrique me, I may not always understand the full context but it does intrigue me and keep my mind thinking.

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson

Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS.
