vultures atop
the hill circled
her chaps hanging
on the iron bars of the
windmill, to them it looked
like a cowhide waiting to be
scraped clean,

her alibi
cooled in
the stock tank
in the meadow, the
day had come when
the fire set itself, the broken
glass from the whiskey bottle
magnified in the sun, she sat naked
ass in the stock tank waiting for the glass
to get hot enough from the sun to ignite the
pile of dry crested wheat grass,

she looked through
her binoculars, she saw
a little smoke, then pretty
soon, she saw a lot of smoke,
then the fire, that was then, this
is now, the pile of skulls lie bleached
in the sun,

given to me in
the cradle, a burning
lense, guided by Fire,
intense sexual magnification
burns...it's you...

Sage, don't we all sit around and watch those vultures? It is a state of life sometimes..
Amazingly wonderful and captivating poetry.

Much peace, love and light,
Amber

Vultures!! Our natural clean up crew
lingering over death...giving further into life forces

You look good in this shared troth
cooling your alibi...
I nicked my finger on broken glass
None so deep as your magnification
blazing trails...Vickie

So, now I see how to do a real sensual metaphor~ without flaw.
Deadly precision in this one, allowing truth to sink. Deep.

There is so much to be "garnered" from these verses, Sage. To me, this is very impressive writing. Thank you for sharing your gifts. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

'Vultures' has the atmospheric brilliance of true writing, the scope and range of the liberated psyche...the fire not only of passion but of cleansing...burn 'them' out of it, Sage!...and brand us all with our true (and oft confused) natures.

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson
