Empath: Inspired by Judas Priest Lyrics Between the Hammer and the Anvil

astronomical compact disks
when the ancient oracles used
stones, tablets, wheels and plates
given to them by 'the messenger'

the opening of a Sealed Book,
observations by the associated comets
re-telling of a show and tell by a Time Traveller
warnings about false religions and misunderstood interpretations

the empath and prophetess
one of such moniker as firebrand of long ago
reincarnate dispatched to this century to write anvil poetry
while listening to the heavy metal of Judas Priest, I, the messenger,

my associates with the fire of the reckoning anvil
led by my steel constitution fortified by justice and unmalleable law
priestess of your worst nightmare when you cross the ethereal yellow
double line in your reckless rival vehicle

Between the Hammer and the Anvil
lyrics perfomed by Judas Priest

Storm warning
But there's no fear
Lies forming
The sacrament lays bare

The sinner
Will testify
They'll suffer
When sacrificed on high

The burning sermons purge their evil words
Between the Hammer and the Anvil

Force rises
False rituals
Baptises
The body and the soul

Our union
Their fall from grace
Confession (confess your sins)
Will seal them to their fate

The burning sermons will survive their curse
Between the Hammer and the Anvil

Transgression
They prey on grief
Our mission
To purify belief

This altar
Gives power and light
They'll falter
While we are shining bright

The burning sermons consecrate their sin
Between the Hammer and the Anvil

Storm warning
But there's no fear

I prefer Nightwish myself, but there is no doubt that this is an inspired choice. This little ditty was penned with an almost benevolent malevolence that pulls tight the killer heavy metal chord in a sequence of scythian serenity.

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson

Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS.
