Ballad of the Horse Collars Repent

they were put
on a team led astray
by jackasses mouth and hoof

adjustments made
horse collars just don't
fit a jackass no matter how it prayed

wagon load of preachers
don't disguise well of mule skinners
bibles lean on common sense dull the spurs

chests swelled with air
the jackasses still can't fill the horse collar
tryin' to pull something off with gear for a mare

they spilled the whole damn load
wagon overturned with beer and whores
jackasses and the ballad of the horse collars repent on Justice road

Two line I wish I had penned. But, then, dear Sage
I could say that about everything that wears your brand.

There's humor and bright wit to spare in your "ballad" Sage. One of your very best my dear friend. Now belly up to the creative writing bar and send us another round of great poetry. I bid you love and peace. Jon Michael

Sage, a pleasure to read your sinfully funny jab at "preachers"... as a christian at heart all I can say is, "oh Lawdy".
