It was the hour before the gods awake 
 Athwart the vain enormous trance of space  
 Then something in the inscrutable darkness stirred 
 An unshaped consciousness desired light 
 Arrived from the other side of boundlessness  
 The darkness failed and slipped like a falling cloak  
 A glamour from the unreached transcendences
