What Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday Said

we pulled
down her zipper
and shimmied down
her pants, she had none,

we put her
in the drink, the
tumbleweeds shriveled,

Wyatt Earp
always did say
victory was more
than pussy, instead
we arrived with mountain
lion and antelope flung across
our saddles, a product of how we
hate restlessness and taking orders,

bushwhackers and
common saddle-pounders
sought our cache of gold bullion,
we set fire to the hornet's nest of
those in disguise stopping by to profit
from our hard-earned fame, we swaggered
across the sawdust floor, we nailed him with a
sweeping left, he fell right where he lay,

they don't even
put up a good fight,
Doc Holliday always did
say he'd go into legend sharing
our winnings, and yes, Doc even
called them a fake,

this simple
announcement
is all we know of it;
that it is a sentimental
rub-off of those who know
us. And her? She drowned.

It's alright Chip, you're forgiven. There is nice imagery here and I wouldn't put it past Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday to have a little mischievious fun keeping the piece. Thank you for sharing Sage.

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson

Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS.
