Firebrand Brethren of the Starseed Apocalypse

shooting stars
of Hollywood Boulevard
light up long black lesbian
cigars

commander of
reckoning, firebrand
communicates with the
spirit of Doc Holliday,
outlaw king

tears in heaven
console those who
the enemy stole in a
war all too predictable 2011

dead reckoning
powder burns evidence
confiscated, preacher's plan
full of bullet holes, monks chant
and sing

cleansing with fire ash
pleiadean phoenix triggers
ignite blackpowder flintlock when
Wyatt Earp gave the signal with a glass
of sourmash

firebrand brethren
of the starseed apocalypse
blood-soaked bandana catches
tears in heaven

you would know
my name if you saw
me in heaven

I like the way you tour toward the teary-eyed finale and end up channeling Eric Clapton-Claptoff... good to see the light's still on, Sage.

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson

Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS.
