Only God Knows Why 2011

rewind from that year;
now ash, gray lesson residue
quite aways from the windmill,
closer to the broken buckboard,
the sky painted with a commemorative
apocalypse hue,

dice melted out
of their cube into
an unrecognizable blob
but we gambled with love
on the roll, fate is held in high
esteem, we never cheated, what
in the hell is there to rob?

retirement for
us, entry level for
roving bands on the
move trying their damndest
to score a paycheck from Four
Corners, but security somehow
is held in trust by the Utes, and even
I don't know the combination anymore,
numbers fool the roadmap, and fools are
numbers on the roadmap,

illusion fights
sleep in the weary,
eyes focused on the next
batch of petroglyphs to decipher,
only god knows why, and Lucifer James Jr.
lost his man stuff, our knife a memento in a
locked case in the trading post with a rosary
keeping watch, all white beads in purity and a
pentacle for company, perhaps those with firewood
for sale will contact me, I left my name on the bathroom
stall where to find me from midnight to 3am, the kachinas
gave me a magick marker that writes invisible, Mesa Verde
spirits know authentic ink, they don't have to see it,

drought spared
us from the alfalfa
fields, lavender dried
up, been there done that,
I didn't wear Old Spice out yet,
and what's that thing about the
Dolores Valley Ghost, oh yea, he
was stoned, well that pretty much
rewinds it, only god knows why.

Sion Alone by Sion Liscannor

‘I have to go back soon,’ says Adam one afternoon. Yes, I know he has to go back soon. He has to go back to London and to his job and his apprenticeship. He has taken the maximum number of days leave – he has taken his entire Summer holiday in the Sp

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson

Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS.
