Marinating in a rub.

Poem Artwork

Like Rub of Pheasant Preparing

migration
demise amid the fakeness
of gems you realize now the
lapidarist must walk the labyrinth
in passive revolution of a circle in
silence

in complete obeisance

that you have
a predilection
is in its own right
a fleshy kinship dormant
for reasons deniable on the
surface but aggressively active
in your interior; if we are to assume
squash comes from a native american word
askutasquash meaning eaten raw

intumescence cries
the tribade like rub of pheasant preparing

and the labyrinth
commands your attendance
in passive revolution where the earth
and sky witness our turnaround I articulate
this to mean turn ourselves around in orientation
casting orgasmic relief

did you know the
gems once also had
a tragic existence?
my thoughts on ambiguity
harbor a polytheistic sense
analogous to this condition of
interaction of fiery passion with
a strength of mind which allows us
the creative powers of such fascinating work

it is this
such intimacy
of mortal women
that the conflicted
become liberated defined
by kinship of the old ways

does it not arouse
explicit ritual and
natural memory?

I'm sure the old ways work well, but pheasants are not native and were imported from China. Ah, there's the rub.
