Sweetwater prowling in her night vision camera. Purely optical. Intense evening. When instinct is mystery and vanity loves to watch.

Poem Artwork

Sweetwater's Forest is Alive!

surveillance feeds
the images to the symbol
of the balanced scales of justice
attorneys judges and juries

fall they do
the pine cone seeds
the raccoon wears a blindfold
an accoutrement borrowed from an
egyptian goddess

the fawn
camouflages
twin or alone
going undetected
by the predator the
doe with eyes at the
side of her head a 310
degree view good night
vision

sweetwater in
her home range
marks her territory
in the tree bark night
vision the high frequency
of the sound of predators you
step into her domain where shadows
of concealed infrared light records
the image uploads the exposure

the fox
steals the
trashbag blind
teabag tag dangling
from its mouth the white
collar black and white striped
skunk bleeds from the sharp tin
can lid

the license plate
number in high resolution
not forest friendly the bear
read it up close claw marks
in the thermoplastic bumper
all of it caught on surveillance
smile and the middle finger

I bet you, if I catch you in my headlights, you will give me the finger, too… Right?

meet me in the silo
there is a prayer sanctuary
I need to show you
we can then bathe in the troth
as for that flying middle bird
I normally ride them...

Cutting the Cheese by Edward Patterson

Just a simple gathering of the Gay & Lesbian Activist Association of New Birch and Sipsboror (GLAABS) and we plunge down a hilarious ride to perdition.

A (shockingly) truthful autobiography with elements of fantasy, philosophy, and historical fiction.

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson

Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS.
