Armageddon the Lesbian Pilgrims Give Thanks

bloody cornucopia
filled to the brim
blood-stained knives
red-tipped arrowheads
wrapped in bloody bandanas
flesh weaved into war-braided rattan
riverbed rocks killed slingshot religion
backfired

baths bucketed
warm water over the fire
whiskey and cigar lit

derringer's
perfumed trigger
cleavage don't die
bible pages glued together
with last night's candle wax
ace tucked in the left lipstick farrier apron pocket
stick of dynamite and one match in the poker chip right

storytelling surmounts
lula fisk the alias mail order bride
delivered to the wrong door the butter churn
separates the chore

pumpkins and gourds
mark crossing the line
I've seen some trouble that
history has repeated and prophecy foretold

tumbleweeds tangled
with wild turkey feathers
sin blows the hangman's noose
baby cries wakes up the town's impregnator
just in time to die

doc holliday
these huckleberries are OK
corral is secure johnny ringo
lies still armageddon the lesbian pilgrims
give thanks

Duke has a better handle on it than I do. As usual, as I read the imagery in my mind is an eclectic and electric. You touch all the buttons. Thankfully, I am not shocked, but pleased with your words in every poem, part history and part emotion… Always moving in a westerly direction through the vanishing West.

Sage:

Bloody 'ell! Duke Holliday here...give thanks indeed...baths bucketed? Joanie the Whore...double derringer, pocket pistol? Trixie the Whore...pray tell of the glue...pumpkins no match for a 12 gauge slug...damn the dividing line full speed ahead...tumbleweed songs drowned out by the wind...Henry Plummer a stiff on a stiff frozen rope.... Perfect imagery, BTW....

Yur little buddy,
