calamine lotion

voting a lesbian poet incumbent
spotting the leopard in the pink crowd 
chiseled with loyalty and wetted with glycerin 
 
non-irritated 
with no itchiness
and no weeping of the skin
her pores laugh with the youthful
reward of a ten-year mission of rooting out 
the poison ivy and its accomplices poison sumac
and poison oak
 
cold-water compress
bent over the counter
not giving a f*** but 
getting one
 
undercover gratitude
the stings a precursor
to the suit dealt in affinity
dollar signs accounting in
increments in the application 
of topical corticosteroids administered
by fate well conceived by a rash of hash
in a press release by the food and drug 
administration announced that no proof 
had been submitted showing calamine had
proved to be effective in treating the irritation
it was a ruse punishable by life and death a classic
moral study, and her wife a topical agent in the pink
the fireworks explode july fourth 2020-covid-19

I always enjoy reading your revolutionary stuff. I don't always understand, but since I have a natural immunity to poison ivy and poison oak, I find myself quite lucky for not having ever had a major case of it like my twin brother.

Like when dealing with Coronavirus, one should perhaps have long rubber gloves all the way past the elbow when clearing out brush. Calamine lotion? Never used anything on my skin. You think that my skin would be burned to a crisp, flaked off, and itching like hell. Come to think of it, is. Calamine anyone?
