Surely I love life and freedom...
Truthfully I am afraid of war...
Certainly you think like me, my friend.
Your brain’s possibly larger than mine.
Why the other’s suffering seems to be so far away?
Why our own pain seems to sound so loud?
Why the noise seems to shut up hungry mouths
of children who are beyond disgrace?
Perhaps chimpanzees know the answers
to all my doubts...to all my doubts...
But certainly they will not face the horrors
that we face, nowadays, worldwide,
with faith...without faith...with face...
without face...with ice in the heart,
with fire in the eager, trigger.
From the tree, from the branches, from the lives,
from the leaves, from the brain of the
chimpanzee...I am.
