God's Creation by Linda Rivers God's creation was this earth, the stars, the sea, then man . . . He made a Kingdom unto Him, from this our life began. He said be fruitful, fill this earth -- give unto it new life . . . And from this man he took a rib and created man a wife! He used the rib of this first man, his purpose plain to see . . . For if he used man's other parts, there'd be NO equality. The rib you'll find in near man's heart, the sign of his affection. You'll also find it under his arm, the sign of his protection. Yes, God created man this wife, a gift from up above, He said, "Be fruitful, create new life, fill all this world with love!" Linda J Rivers

This poem brought joy to my heart and made it dance! Very, very, very well done. Like the way you shared the historical reality of how the human race came to be, and showed how that is the basis of how we ought to treat one another. Have you considered creating a melody to go with it? It stands on its own, but would also make a most beautiful song!

Good one. Welcome to AD. I personally would never relegate women to be an afterthought "rib" of Adam, but that's just me. But I'm also not into tree-dwelling snakes. Your poem speaks of Genesis, and it moves well -- carrying the reader forward nicely. Well done. Please write more!
