These days I cannot sprint or do a 220 on a track in a minute or so
But...
I can still go for a five mile walk if I my wife tells me, "Let's go."
These days I cannot bench press 200 lbs. like I used to way back when
But...
I can still hold my cat up in the air and bench press him again and again!
These days I cannot swim like a fish anymore or water ski with any kind of grace
But...
I can waddle like a whale with my grandkids and have fun almost anyplace
So I have much to be thankful for but would I want to go back to my youthful days?
No, because life was a crazy, confusing and back then I lived in such a daze
Back then I did not know who I was or who were my friends
We would laugh a lot and joke around but lacked true wisdom in the end
But today I have wonderful folks who will be at my side 24/7 anyday
They are there for me and I for them to give help and support in everyway
So why would I want to go back to how it used to be in the past?
For I love how things are now and learned that troubled times "Thank God" do not last.
Amen...

You have a wonderfully blessed life, John and you have worked hard to get just where you are right now. Having friends at your side 24/7 is one of the greatest blessings we have as we age. We have learned to help our fellow man at every turn in life, especially those less fortunate than we are; we have sown good seed into others lives and we can now reap the bounty from that harvest. It is so true... "what goes around comes around." Good seed... good reward. Basic principles from the word of God, learned from the laps of our mothers and fathers and grand parents. A wonderful, positive and thought provoking write that will have many people taking stock of their lives... exactly what a good post should do. ***** Joy
