There are some out there, reading poems and stories and waiting for that special moment to write. Writing is taking a journey, one-step-at-a-time and there is no time like the present...
You can do it!
Put the pen to paper.
You can do it!
Perfection will come later.
You can do it!
Do it today.
Type or write it out.

Write? Right!
You must have it inside you on some level to write that first line, poem, or whatever. I was reading a novel, had been reading them for years. I stopped then and there. I didn't get into poetry for many years later. John is correct, "You Can Do It!" You must put your mind to it and DO IT!
Excellent, especially for the young people of today. So many aspire to be writers, but they want the magic pill and never realize that all they need to do is just take your advice and write, and as you say, "write away." Love the pun.

There are so many distractions for young people today. They actually write a lot if they text and learn shorthand ways (shorthand was a secretarial skill of high order) to type that confound those of us who use old words to convey meaning.
But I think you are encouraging people who haven't written for a very long time, mostly because life got in the way or they were told in school that they couldn't write well. To those people your poem is particularly encouraging.
Reminds me of the time, after sending out my annual letter to my entire family for many years, I got a letter from my cousin who went to one of those one room school houses a mile up the road for the first eight grades before going to a small high school where his class was probably less than 20. Anyway, this long letter about him and his family he wrote was encouraged by my writing all those letters and felt obligated to write back. His handwriting was beautiful. His spelling and punctuation was perfect. And I was surprised at the information the letter conveyed. I immediately responded. He never wrote to me again, but has sent me e-mails from time to time.
