Let me touch you…
I’ll pluck the worms from your eyes,
Pick the encrusted mud from your joints,
Brush the moss from your limbs…
Let me touch you…
I’ll wrap you in the finest linen,
Warm you by the fire,
Cuddle you when all others would turn away,
And breathe the ancient smell of the tomb upon your breath -
The fire…torches and campfires, candlelight, gas lamps…
You trod on, dancing in the flames,
Let me touch you…
I shall dance with you - oh, not a shy shuffling of the feet, no -
I shall dance with you, a sweeping, swinging, pounding rhythm,
The drums of the Earth, the heart of the Universe,
Let us glide together, you and I,
And sing, oh yes, let us Sing!
Let us sing with the voice of the forest, the instinctive beast,
And dance in circles, like the Moon, like the Planets,
Let me touch you! When you inhale, I will exhale,
When you turn I will turn with you,
Come, let me touch you,
Let me touch you
As you have touched me…
