My heart bleeds
Each drop a pattern, a circle
With no end…no beginning,
Each drop a memory, a fragment of
The old…a trace of the new
Blossoming before me, so rich…so dark…
It’s heady scent has drawn you oh, so many times,
Your tongue lapping at the wounds,
Your soul-starved loneliness cradled
In the mystery of me…my blood nourishing you,
Bringing you life within the cave,
Within your dank, self-created dungeon -
The one you will not leave…
My heart bleeds, but these drops aren’t for you,
No…not for you, not anymore.
I’ve suckled you at my breast,
I’ve lain beneath you, welcoming your powerful thrusts
As you’ve fed off the cracks in my heart,
As you’ve lapped at my wounds, poisoning me with
Your whispers…your promises…your undying love.
My heart bleeds, but these drops aren’t for you,
And this love that flows in my veins,
That winds and whispers it’s way out through the wounds
You’ve torn wider…and wider still…this love,
It’s not for you…not for you, not anymore…
