Salute to the sun
The pink show begins
first delicate rays of sunrise, deepening soon to rose
if only I could look at the world through that rosy haze all winter long
peer through the sunrise in lieu of a pair of rose tinted glasses
heedless of the snow piling up against my windowpane
is it possible to hold the dawn against me like a talisman against the encroaching winter?
sunburst for my friend
to hold in her hand
spreading its warming rays out around her
to comfort and cheer her
in this hour of sadness
golden skies spreading warmth all over this frost covered landscape
salute to the sun
which this morning is for my friend
