I wrote this poem in the year 2000 for my son who is the apple of my eye
Boys do cry--dare to be a gentle person Jesus had a compasionate heart You can choose to be like him He forgave the woman at the well He protected the prostitute from the men who threw stones He said "Let the children come to me for of these is the Kingdom of Heaven". He cured those who were ill and He gave sight to the blind He even provided wine for the Wedding feast at Canna He chose men to be His disciples But it was the gentle John He loved best His cup runnit over with love He said from the cross "John this is your mother Mother this is your son" Why not start today? See how your world would change Dare to copy the Holy Father See how he carried the cross Setting the example Dare to be a gentle man You are the rose in my heart Please we must never part
