Being content enough and happy enough in and with our own lives is half the battle when it comes to happiness. My great-grandmother lived alone for 60 years after her husband died. She never re-married and raised her son and nephew, by herself, on a house-cleaners salary. When those children were grow, she lived with her cats and lived a very simple, yet very happy life until she passed at the age of 90. I think, so often, we are guilty of complicating our lives too much and would be better advised to life simply and carefree, even if alone.

I'm glad you've found that happiness and are content enough with it to write about it. Hopefully, others will read your words and see that you can be alone and still be happy.
