A few words of rhyme to the friends in
"OneLight Authors & Creations Alexandra"
which probably saw in Coimbra a sundawn
where the horizon was red because of a broken heart.
En portugal, cuando
làgrimas de dolor
mojan las mejillas
por un amor marchito...
los portugueses no dejan
que internas amarguras
muerdan su alma
hasta sacar el ùltimo grito;
no,ellos te cantaràn
con una queja triste
que araña la carne
con espinas de olvido.
Los ecos de ese canto
son lamentos de flores
que perfuman la frente
con besos perdidos...
no son lamentos de pena
o desconsuelo,
son palabras diciendo adiòs
a lo que se ha querido,
con una lengua que
encuentra un sabor salado,
de làgrimas...
y gemidos.
FADO es su nombre,
que tù solamente
podràs comprender
si has estado herido...
escucha ese canto
como Ulyses oyò from Cirse
el llamado de amor
que llena los oìdos...
cierra los ojos y escucha
la quebrada voz,
y pàgale con una làgrima
si has comprendido.
O Fado, dear Georg, runs in our veins and beats in our heart. More than a chant, it is a sentiment, an emotion, as indefinable as "Saudade" - it is an acceptance of Fate (the literal translation of the word "Fado") and of its designs, but an acceptance expressed in images with the musicality... yes, of the ocean and of its tides. Above all, "Fado" is love and is poetry... and your poem, my friend, sings this blend in a perfect voice. Uma beleza, que muito e profundamente lhe agradeço, do coração.
