Are you kidding me?
you already had
a New Year's resolution
in 2006...2005....2004...
whatever happened to them
that in 2007
you need yet another more?
I hear of checking at the entrance
like one does with a hat,
all the weapons and the feelings
which made any war such a drag;
and from an undecided world...
waggling tongues saying nothing,
do I need to say another word?
Every day an atrocity is made
in the name of the same God,
worshipped with different names
but the only one we have;
in His name, don't kill thy neighbor
because harming your brother is
the same as injuring one of His sons.
2007 New Year's resolution
should be the one we don't have,
but behave towards the world
as we had one from the very start,
after all, of good intentions...
the road should be made
to reach our Father's heart.
AMEN! I WILL MOST ASSUREDLY KEEP THIS INSPIRING WORK. IT IS MY DEEPEST HOPE AND PRAYER THAT THIS 'RESOLUTION' HAS NEVER CHANGED...AND THAT EVEN NOW, FOUR YEARS LATER WITH SUCH A GREAT CHANGE IN PERSONAL AND SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU ARE...STILL... 'REACHING' FOR YOUR FATHER'S HEART. PLEASE, GEORG...WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT, READ ROMANS 8:38-39.

Right on, Georg, write on! According to archeologists, about 28,000 years ago there was a tribe in upper North America where the chief said to his people, "This year, we move south to the warmer valleys where Mother Mammoth lives." And they went south and killed the people in that valley, and lived there for generations until they had to move south again. Now, all these thousands of years later, the killing cycle still goes on, only now it's out of meanness rather than need. The killing needs to stop, and the waggling tongues need to speak important things in the councils of God's family. Beautiful piece of writing, Georg. Maybe we can each do our little bit to make it happen.
