Yesterday I witnessed
when a deaf child
that didn't so often
had a smile...
received a blessing that
his parents couldn't afford,
in the form of an hearing aid.
Expectantly we were
standing all around,
waiting to see his face
when hearing for the first time
the voice of his mother
asking if he could hear
mommy calling his name.
His eyes shined with happiness
opened big, round,in awe
and showing surprise,
he was deaf no more!
couldn't say nothing
overwhelmed at the time,
so he answered with a big smile.

Ah, Georg, that is so sweet! Beautifully expressed!
Beautiful write and expressed very nicely. I had a little boy in my classroom a few years ago that was 99% deaf and he recieved his hearing aids that year. It was an entirely different world for him. He was always able to speak, only he was very hard to understand..over the course of the year he gained not only his hearing and more independence, he gained a more fluent speech. This was a great reminder of that beautiful little boy whom I hadn't thought of in some time. Great write my friend. Enjoyed this, glad I stopped by.
