like loto flowers sleeping
on the quiet waters,
or the morning fog
wrapping your body
like a silky yukata.
...in Japan it means calm,
like tomo-dachi's smile
after a long absence,
or the brush ballet
dancing a peaceful haiku
on rice paper.
...in Japan it means calm,
like resting in your garden
wings of butterflies,
or when softly you say,
to a loved one...
that final sayonara.
