Empty streets engulfed in shadows,
with merciless rain that keeps on falling
on drowning sidewalks where feet go
on swimming, hardly walking.
Overloaded with water, tree branches
by gust of wind they are waving
to a solitary passer by, like a wet
shadow that goes away...melting.
The skies are crying their sorrow,
a gown made of clouds are wearing,
with diamonds jewells made of lighting
and water pearls, for a grandiose wedding.
Thunderous sobs explosions in the night,
with the absence of the groom...no wedding!
only me is left, and uninvited drenched guest
that the empty streets go on roaming.
Late, the graveyard hours had passed,
the houses are dark, like dreading
that someone lost will come calling
and their warmth forced to be sharing.
Rain, hard, cold, like an unloving mother,
in a night dressed up with utmost uncaring,
I lift my face to see the sorrowful skies
and wonder if we are together...dispairing.

Once again a very powerful and moving poem. You have captured the inner lonliness and sadness so well. I could 'feel' his despair.
Outstanding!
Many blessings,

This kind of aloneness has nothing at all to do with how many people are around. Your poem has persuasive imagery and insights that I feel come from personal suffering.
I agree with Andre - a rich inside revelation that has colors and undertones of Edgar Allen Poe. Powerful and moving!
Light and Wisdom ...
This is a rich picture of an inside revelation... An outstanding poemization duly poetized.
