To a friend of mine that lost her mother like a lion cub loses hers and the buzzards come, and so the jackals, all exited to divide the spoils.
Her mother's gone and with it
the protection of lioness love,
the caring for her newborn cub
leaving her and unprotected dove.
How she dared, her Mom, to go,
with so many hungry jackals gargoyls
waiting for that final breath to come
to divide by themselves all the spoils?
Mothers aren't suppose to die, ever,
we all want for them to stick around,
so she can wipe away all our tears
and close with love, all our wounds.
Now that the lioness is gone, the
buzzards have landed with their demands,
because the little cub can't defend,
left by mother, a little piece of land.
You have expressed that feeling of a child left behind so well...I was shocked at my own mother's death and felt almost an abandonment...after all, your mother is the one person who has known you since your conception~
It's very tragic but that almost always
Happens the relatives come running to see what that
Love one left, and what they can carried with them
They never worried, but now that the person has die
They are right there like vultures!
I feel for her,I been through that!!
Love And Peace to you always
Your friend...Morning Star

Georg, this is so tragic..an all too common "ocurrence" that happens after death. Relatives who wait for a loved one to pass so they can get their hands on the "lion's share", in my opinion, are despicable.
Stay close to the one who lost her mom, she'll need you in the days ahead.

Georg,
Very heartfelt write, my friend. I can identify with this little cub. Losing a mother is one of life's heartbreaking moments. I hope you friend holds her memories close and knows the pain will lessen but her Mother's memory will live on.
It's always amazed me, and saddened me, that the human vultures and jackals are far worse than those in the animal kingdom when death comes calling. A most heartfelt write for your friend, Georg.
This one resonates deeply...I lost my lioness love 17 years ago. How I miss her, still...powerfully penned...and yes, I feel like a lost cub in the jungle. :( Well done, Georg.
Touching write, sad...but a part of life that most will have to face. I am so very blessed to still have my mother today, I count my blessings everyday and thank God for allowing me more time with her! Enjoyed my friend! You've penned it well!
Blessings,

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
