The Storm Within

Suddenly it is there, the face made of years, of disappointments, of gray hours and showing the lines that a few too many betrayals put there, we are looking into the mirror...

Poem Artwork

In the mirror and looking back at me
was a expressionless man, very old,
having besides him a little window
from where to see inside his soul...

there was brewing, by some long time,
perhaps the mother of all the storms,
with bitter tears falling like rain
from the darkness of the blackest clouds;

thunder will come drumming then,
in the shape of every painful sob;
what to do with so much passion
if there never was, or will be, any love?

cry old man, cry, until the eyes are dry
and there's nothing left but empty words
to remind you that the flesh of your heart
was converted into a pulsating rock.

Very upsetting to think you may feel this way, but your honesty is refreshing.

A heart felt and heart wrenching write, tears are a powerful image in God's eyes...they also have a way of cleansing the inside of a person, allowing them to see more clearly. Again, a powerful write, very well expressed my friend!
Blessings,

Yet like the rock of ages in pages not yet written, resides a hero's love that shapes the worlds heart. Great pen.

When there are to many rocks create a rock garden and plant flowers inbetween. Put the tears to good use. A powerful write you've penned. lady j

Georg,
Nice write,they say time heals,i guess it all depends on how we measure time.You are not alone if that means anything,
I guess if we live long enough we all become as Southern Comfort says Shadow Children one way or another.
Take care , stan nassano

Georg,
Wow...the pain is strong in this outstanding poem. You cause the reader to 'feel' every tear , every heartbreak. This is awesome work, my friend. I pray soon you will walk in sunshine.

Many blessings and love,
~Linda

I felt the pain that inspired this AWESOME write and it just bout broke my heart! You and I are Shadow Children, we are prisoners to our painful past! The past will always color our futures, with a gray hue, but we must embrace it, for it will be our constant companion for eternity! Sendin Ya a BIG HUG! SC
