The day after Christmas - much Food for Thought.

Cool one, Georg. We do have somewhat of a mystery surrounding King Herod's role in the story of Jesus. According to historians, Herod (the one Matthew referred to) died in 4 BC. He was known as the "King of the Jews" and was elected by the Roman Senate to rule all of Judea. Following his demise, he was replaced by Archelaus, 4 BC-AD 6. The confusion stems from "Herod" being a title rather than a name, and there were 6 Herods ruling that area at different times. Most scholars agree that this gospel was written toward the end of the first century AD, so a bit of confusion is not surprising.
