Remember, today will be tomorrow a yesterday, one day more against one day less, time to open the book and start writing that epilogue that we all have left to do "after" like there will be another tomorrow and other after that to do it.
But remember, life is fragile, you have it now and in the next instant you don't.

Poem Artwork

Time passes
in front of my window
with slow steps,
like it wanted to show me
which in my life, unmercifully,
the hours that are running out
will leave back a solitude
with murmurs of dementia.

Time passes,
like a traveler coming back
with slow steps,
wishing to say as he goes
that he used, of his life,
every moment trying to leave
in the subconscious of strangers
a reflection of his face,
whilst I, by my window,
wait for something that's just a dream.

Time passes,
and I became old
with slow steps,
no wishing to know tomorrow because
I was busy with an empty yesterday
which couldn't be filled with hopes,
and, when looking in my own mirror...
the wrinkles on my face,
which time had carved in,
were mocking, of an unknown city
the map of its streets,
without people and abandoned by dreams.

Time passes,
and one start to feel the years weight,
a solitary sadness is knocking at the gates.

I KNOW THIS MUST HAVE BEEN A PASSING THING...BECAUSE AFTER ONE COME TO ACCEPT THAT YES, I AM NO LONGER THE SAME...I HAVE CHANGED...THEN THERE IS THE EXCHANGE OF BEAUTY FOR FOR THE ASHES...AS THE WORD SAYS.(SMILE) BLESSINGS AND THANKS FOR SHARING. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Wonderful expression of our lives. I especially liked the second stanza which so perfectly captures the essence of what our lives are spent doing...trying to etch a piece of ourselves in others...

Penned with deep thoughts of ones life. The journeys mapped out on ones face. Truly a writing of passions of life!

... i fell the sadness and perhaps a trickle of fear etched in the face of this write ~ very effective ...

Yes Georg we are so on the same wavelength. the years, the deaths and yes even the births of young ones bear down on us after we reach a certain age and it is often a struggle to remain positive and optimmistic but we must treasure each day as if it is our lasts as this write suggests. Well done.

Dear Georg,
You're captured the feeling of those of us who feel Father Time creeping up on us and you've done it wonderfully. When I feel my age I think about the poster in my doctor's office which reads, "Growing old is not for sissies." You're not a sissy and neither am I so we buckle up and march on. Stay well and strong my friend. This poem is a keeper for sure.

Marcia

Georg, you arebringing us down to the nitty gritty, and it gets a bit uncomfortable, because you are such an excellent writer, and know how to make your words live! I agree with Jasmin, too! Splendid poem once again bro!

Darned it Georg, you driving me to drink, I had the best of intentions, send me a bottle of your Captain Morgans will ya,
Where is that book, where is it, get busy, what ya gone say if, you are granted more pain, and stay a lot longer hm, so get going, by the way time is eternal, and puff you are not going to disappear, you'll be in another dimension the one as mortals can't see, and it a good thing, for we'd be fucking that one up too. Remembering, is Ego, get rid of it, you are much more than that, very much more, I see it in your other language poetry, write till you can lift the pen no more, then slip to the other side, leave the pen behind for all the ones you inspired, darn I need a drink now.
Hugs! Juergen

We are like the setting sun. But each of us is unique among the stars and leaves an imprint that time cannot erase. That sadness comes from bearing the weight of your wisdom gleaned from all those years. This introspective write is deeply felt and appreciated, Georg. Thank you...Lin

Time passes much too quickly, and I just got a little older while writing this. But I guess time is all we have, so we have to make the best of it.

Smile Georg, we all are getting old, better to be old, merry, and writing than to be cranky, sad, and retiring. Your writing proves you've had a fruitful, productive, and definitely romantic life...
breaking a lot of ladies' hearts along the way!!! Nice reflective poem, my friend.
