Getting up in the morning

Sometimes, mornings are what they said in the streets, "I shouldn't have got out of bed today" crossing with a red light, no finding parking space when late for an appointment, the last quarter rolling out under the car at the toll-boot with fifty honking SOBs queuing back you....

Poem Artwork

Waking up on the morning of another day
with the first silence whispers in your ears,
asking yourself if it is worth to come up
and face the demons riding on your fears,
or, be wise, and all philosophical about it
and remain in your bed for all that’s dear.

Under the blankets you imagine the sun outside
prancing like an horny Faun in the blue skies,
but in reality out there is a raging storm coming
to give Spring an about the face before it arises
on a world enough duped with so many promises
of about working hard to reach much better times,
oh! philosophical con-men immortalized in marble
sleeping pills will surely delete all your smiles!

Bare foot on very cold tiles, the need to take a leak,
abandon the cozy warmth is what one most despise
but falling asleep again, your dream of restrooms
let it to pour, oh what a relief!, that’s will be unwise,
so, clinch your teeth and run run run to the bowl
that your dog finds, when thirsty, so tantalized,
aim and fire, but always remember, get nearer,
it is not as large as your wildest fantasy visualize.

Waking up on the morning of another day
with the first silence whispers in your ears,
asking yourself if it is worth to come up
and face the demons riding on your fears,
or, be wise, and all philosophical about it
and remain in your bed for all that’s dear.

What an endearing pen, Georg! Well done. Personally, I like to awaken about an hour early to enjoy the snug warmth of my bed. I cherish that hour; using it to read a favorite book and monitor the passing moon, rising sun, and stirring of birds... Just remember to keep a soft warm pair of slippers by your bedside for those annoying runs to wee! :-}
Blessings,
Carolyn

No sun.i.rise(s for you, are there? (is there?) Daisies will be popping out of them eyes instead if you don't get up. But then again--I think, looking at the time here, and finding it rather late, I say, go ahead and sleep. You can always change the sheets tomorrow, right? --Charlie

I cannot help it if my dog likes flavored water, but a horny faun under your blanket? Oooof. I don't know whether to call animal control or child protective services.

and remain in your bed for all that deer.

Never mind.

I always find that that time is the most depressing for me, I seem to think all the bad stuff just after my awakening...I'd be better off not sleeping at all so I would never have to wake up...they say that breaking up is a hard thing to do, but I have to believe it is WAKING up that is harder...ed

The minute things seem to be going wrong, I turn around and head home. A great write that many can tell stories on Georg.

but then she says: "come back to bed..."
and your chill vanishes & your aim is head on

and uh!
That's Gross
about the pups porcelain bowl!
Lids are there for particulate matters
& close them! That stuff shoots up 6 feet
or more & you know everything that goes up
finds gravity's pull....landing on tooth brushes
towels sinks...anything out in the open...ewwww
Oh NO! Mr. Ed too?! Men! :)

I had to do that just this mornin - and it was real cold this mornin!

PS: There's a big advantage to havin lots of dogs around when you miss that bowl - when the wife complains, I just say - "One of the dogs must have been drinkin out of it again, and you know how they slobber all over the place!"
