Where windy currents go

When hope is but a wishful thought, without the fuel to run
And love more like Nutrasweet and leaves an aftertaste
Then give up trying to be, the master of your life disaster
And let it go and flow and blow on windy currents go…
Then pray, today, and don’t say nay, let God be master of this life disaster
Today is like another chance to mess with times and tasks
Today another dream is made or sometimes killed at last
Tomorrow is in the hands of time and today’s goals have no impact
When the dawn arrives and sheds its light there is no going back.
It takes a bit of courage to face the mornings light
It takes a bit of luck to live until the start of night
You have a bit of courage left, and luck has brought you safe through nights
So close your eyes in restful sleep, and trust that higher power
To hold the reins you can’t control, and steer your ship to safer shores

I think we've let complication enter our life until we think it is normal. Your poem cries out for a simpler life.

Mmmm, good one, Sandi! Loved that image, "...love more like Nutrasweet and leaves an aftertaste" -- indeed! It's all about courage and faith, isn't it. Nicely penned!

Ted
