I live in between
In altered states of this between
Half the way from hear and now
And then and when
I close my eyes and dream tomorrows
Open them to see yesterdays
And today is but existence
A waiting place to be endured
Until happiness comes to stay

Oh wish for me some patience
As I prepare the day for all to see
That happiness is all there is
Between life and merely living

For I must LIVE in happiness
Mere breathing is not near enough
To walk this earth with joyful laughter
Arm in arm with love hereafter
Embraced within such golden tones
Immersed in joy clear to my bones
It’s the only way I wish to live
Is in this state that happiness gives.

So come to me my happiness
Touch my heart, my skin, my breath
Hold me close in dark of night
Give love that gives my soul free flight
And soon, yes soon you’ll walk with me
And yes we both will get to see
That you and me are happiness
We’ll turn black days to days of gold
Asleep/awake we both will hold
This happiness till days of old.

A smile is always guarenteed
Forever, whatever comes to prey
Upon our joy we will rely
To see past smoke and ruined lives
And find the silver linings cries
