THIS SIDE OF VISION

Hopscotchinhg through a labyrinth
of law and labeled piety, wobbling,
we trip over sin, step on the line,
become hopelessly tangled in
a web of religion and patriotism.

Wrapped in bright blankets of egotism
and righteousness, scrambling blithely
over all the dead bodies strewn
across history-- piled to the moon
for pie in the sky principles, or the
latest version of dream city-- the
majority rumble through time zones
like a phantom army of error, marching
blind, rounding up all the stragglers
of mind to rot in conformity.

Then,listening to the thunder, peering
through the rain, suffering the pain
of our brother, we stare out our prison
-- and see ... but one silent sentry
stationed on the edge of vision.

Wow! Poignant imagery used to open ours eyes to the real vision.

Delma,

This tapestry is very rich with the images of our failures as a species. It is my earnest belief that the collective soul of man bleeds out in the words of its scribes. I was touched by your words and moved by their impact.

That wraps it up pretty well. That's man; yesterday, today and tomorrow... if there is one.
God Bless,

She Intrigues Me, Revelations Of Love by Jon Willey

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
