Forbidden Flame

Poetic Philosophy

FORBIDDEN FLAME

Sensing spiritual fire
in emerging poetry,
(vulnerable) I slip
the shackle of the
mundane, and am
immediately open.

I hear the choir; the
singing engulfs me!

But then, suddenly,
like a cloud of vapor,
the winging words
disappear -- as if
not meant for
mortal acclaim.

Perhaps poetry,
born of the mystic,
sweeps too close to
the blue truth flame.
