THE MISSING ELEMENT

Ear-splitting explosions
don't have it, neither
madcap car chases,
nor naked abases.

Not found in robots,
monsters, or
extraterrestrials,
usually--
except for E.T.

Always missing in
psychedelic setting;
doesn't pulsate in
neon, or glittering
come- on.

Lost and forgotten
in the special effects,
shock-style movie,
or prime time TV...

And, if sometimes--
rare times-- real love
plays a part, oft' times,
still, no HEART.
