This poem came from a conversation with a male friend who was discussing how people in relationships can be insecure. I wrote from a point of view of a person who is insecure, female, and how she does not trust her partner. This is not a personal poem (smile). This is written in Pantoum (a 12 line poem that uses repetition in each stanza, however I wrote more than 12 lines but in the Pantoum style of writing). Enjoy.

drama in relationships…)
You must think I’m stupid.
Playing games with my heart like the rest.
Don’t you know who I am. Who I be?
You better watch your back, superflyer player.
Playing games with my heart like the rest.
Faking you tired.
Saying you are with your boys.
Baby, you are so lame.
Faking you tired.
Climbing in the bed like you’ve worked 2 days in a row.
Ignoring my pleas of desire.
You shut me down.
Climbing in the bed like you’ve worked 2 days in a row.
Faking you tired.
I know there’s a her.
You better watch your back, superflyer player.
Faking you tired.
I watch you like a hawk.
I seen the numbers, emails and heard the sexy voice mails. Oh yeah, I know. I ain’t dumb.
You must think I’m stupid.

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
