solitude
has always been my friend
I love quiet
yearn for it
need it
cannot function without it
don’t can’t get enough of it
basically I like myself
like my thoughts
and observations
my dreams
and aspirations
tv, radio, noise of any kind
mere distractions
irritating distractions
solitude
going into peace and quiet
of the soul
a respite from the hareycarey life we live
cell phones make me nuts
I took 1 hour 1 hour alone in the library
3 messages help
and I had guilt guilt for not being available
when will it end
how do you block off
time
for yourself when so many pull you
how do you find
peace
how do you put your feet in the dirt
and feel the pulse of mother earth
alone
do this do that this report that laundry on and on and on it goes
and where will it end
in a padded cell
surely
I want to breathe a sunset
hunt with the hawk
admire a wild mushroom
I want to laugh with the squirrels
dance in the moonlight
wash my soul in the tide
clean
and free
alone
my heart hearing
the song
the cadence
the joy
of life
in solitude
my turn
be back in a week or so or never
have fun
bye

Loved it. I was once an extrovert but has becaome very much the opposite and love the quiet and peace. Can't even stand a radio near me.Excellent poem.

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
Worthy words...
I truly enjoyed these lines etched in grace.
