I remember watching my husband

I remember trying to stay out of his way
hiding behind the camera
laughing behind my hand
at the antics

I remember the dog going after the bankee
and the fight over the new remote car
I remember it all
those voices laughing in my heart
the look that meant only nap time
daddy daddy make a picture of me
pincher bugs in the playhouse
what a thing

how precious
is the time we have
2002 the here the now
how will it look in 2017
can’t even imagine as I couldn’t fathom then
but
hearing those voices laughing in my heart
from 1991
made me
realize
now
is really what matters most
