he says I need to Play
with him more
I thought I was playing
as
in
a bathtub made for two
Saturday
as
in
running through Macy’s
looking for suit and tie Sunday
is that not
playing
is not sleeping in my bed
constitution enough for
playmate of the year
the millennium
huh
what I ask do you mean by Play
lift weights
do the rattrap treadmill handhold
when you were sweating
I was reading
“The Tree” by that Chilean chick
I was mind lifting about Mozart and
some damned rubber tree that her husband
had chopped down
and then
she saw him for what he was
an old man who Liked her but didn’t Love her
and she saw her life for what it was
rancid
and
I
still let you in my bed
because I love you you dork
now about the other comment
take care of myself
I don’t think you Even want me getting into
that one
well maybe I will anyways
just to make you sweat around the collar
which incidentally I wash oh that’s not playing
is it
I DO take care of myself
shit
I’m
Forty-two dude
forty friggin two years on this earth
three kids
I can wear my 15 year olds pants
I can turn more than one head in a bar
alright
so I have some not so good habits
fine
they could be worse
much worse
so
I think I feel better
no dammit I do feel better
I AM A BABE
and if I need to tell you that
well
bite me

geez I love a good vent

To you this may be a rant...however there is so much truth in what you say. It is inescapable how you reveal the logic of life and make it all fit seamlessly within the realities of growing older. You have come to accept that you are a "Babe" and one only need keep their eyes open without ever blinking so nothing is missed, to realize that too.

I think you are a babe
(too afraid not to step in line)
hope that helped
sounds to me like I would be on your side
probably one of the heads that would snap in the bar

A skillful rant. But on behalf of the fellow involved, of course he wants to play more. Not because of any lack but because of all you have. If he said it badly, forgive him. His love is often inarticulate.
